Vagan Vog began his career as a hairdresser, but soon transformed himself into an artist, philosopher, and thinker. He created a unique system of hair cutting techniques that emphasized a deep understanding of each client’s personality and expression of that personality through hair matched with a master knowledge of the tools. Vagan Vog then established a brand, V.CLUB, and a chain of salons based on the brand. Combining his philosophical understanding of hair and its value, he went on to establish a new movement in art – Artvol. 



When Vog cuts hair, he feels like an artist and a sculptor. He moves from form to shape and creates shape from nothing. He can transform thin uninteresting hair into a masterpiece making the bearer proud. Through his understanding of geometric lines and measurements, he finds solutions and expresses personality, style, and feelings. His genius is in creating substance from nothing.

Goethe said – everything is temporary, art is eternal. Artists, poets, composers, writers, scientists – creative people of all times have always tried to create something eternal and looked for ways to express it. Vog found his way. Possessing deep knowledge about the nature of hair and its structure and eternal quality (hair cells never die), Vog preserves the time, the person, and the art by creating paintings from hair. Using the unique qualities of hair, Vog combines fashion, aestheticism, and progress in a single piece of art. 



Every artistic creation carries a deeper philosophical meaning. Plato said – the future is a reflection of the present. Portraits made with live hair express the human soul giving one a glance into their own soul and deeper inner thoughts, thus, allowing one to form their own future by understanding themselves in the present.



Vog’s philosophy is bringing back to life the Greco-Roman view of hairdressers as artists.
